If you suffer from low RPC performance between Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 then the following settings on the Vista client may resolve your problem.

netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled 

You may notice this behaviour in Remote Desktop Sessions and applications that use RPC in general.
